Mount Names Ailes as Trustee

The Board of Trustees of Mount Saint Mary College has elected Elizabeth Ailes as a Trustee for an initial three-year term, beginning this month. Ailes is a 20-year veteran of NBC News, CNBC, and America's Talking (the forerunner of MSNBC), and is currently the owner and publisher of The Putnam County News & Recorder and The Putnam County Courier.

After graduating with a degree in journalism from Southern Connecticut State University, Ailes began her career at NBC News Radio and NBC News. She later became director of business programming at CNBC, before being appointed vice president of programming for Americaís Talking.

Ailes is the recipient of the Whipple Foundations' 2010 Preserve Putnam Award, and the Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneurial Spirit Award. Mount Saint Mary College president Fr. Kevin E. Mackin, OFM, presented her with an honorary doctor of letters degree at the collegeís commencement ceremony in 2012.

She is married to Roger Ailes, Chairman and CEO of the Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network. The Ailes family home is in Garrison.
